Plagiarism investigation process

Last month, we told you about the penalties for plagiarism that we handed out in 2011. You may be wondering about the investigation process.

Plagiarism is a serious accusation, and when we are alerted to a suspected case, we engage in a thorough investigation. If we find that a student has committed plagiarism, we assess a $500 fine and additional penalties as appropriate. One week after we notify the student of a finding of guilt, we tell the student’s employer.

You will find complete information about the process and penalties in the Student Resource Guide.
